Versant Power to offer virtual update on Integrated Grid Planning

BANGOR and PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Versant Power will hold a virtual session on its integrated grid planning work at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10. This meeting will focus on completion of a grid needs assessment.
If you would like to join this session, please RSVP at gridandclimate@versantpower.com. A Microsoft Teams link will be shared with those who register.
This work supports Versant Power’s planning for the future needs of northern and eastern Maine’s electrical systems and fulfills requirements of LD 1959, An Act Regarding Utility Accountability and Grid Planning for Maine’s Clean Energy Future. Integrated grid planning is intended to enable state energy policy, modernize the electric grid, and facilitate a seamless transition to clean energy. Maine's electric utilities must develop comprehensive grid plans every five years, with the first due in January 2026. (See Maine Public Utilities Commission Docket No. 2022-00322).
Interested customers are encouraged to attend this virtual meeting if they want to learn or offer feedback on how the company is planning for future grid needs. Feedback also is welcome at gridandclimate@versantpower.com.
